Transgender women, known for males attaining feminine appearances through artificial means, continue to attract significant attention in modern Japan. While Japan's LGBT population is estimated at 8.9%, it remains the only G7 country not to recognize same-sex marriage. Amid this backdrop, transgender sex work has gained attention for its unique appeal, symbolizing sexual freedom and equality. Transgender women often face various social and professional challenges. For instance, they may struggle to afford gender-affirming surgeries, and in some cases, the loss of the penis affects their evaluation in the industry. Additionally, due to insufficient social understanding, they frequently endure emotional strain and interpersonal difficulties. This work portrays the daily lives of transgender women through the sex industry, revealing their authentic realities and capturing widespread interest.
