Four years into her marriage, Ai Mukai's relationship with her husband has gradually grown cold. Meeting up with an old friend for drinks, she seeks any way to regain her husband's attention and asks him if it's okay. But he remains indifferent, deepening her loneliness until she drinks herself into unconsciousness. When her friend calls her husband for help, he fails to show up—instead, it's her brother-in-law, Kenichi, who comes to her aid. With no last train available, Kenichi carries Ai on his back toward home. Drunk and unaware, Ai instinctively exposes herself and begins seeking warmth from Kenichi's body, drawing close to him in her vulnerable state.
