Married woman Mizue (40) has been married for 10 years with no children. Her long-standing job as a nurse is demanding, leaving her hardly any time at home. She met her husband through shared hobbies, began dating, and eventually married, but three years ago he quit his job, started squandering the household income, and became addicted to drinking and gambling. His debts have piled up as he continues escaping reality. Unable to abandon her husband despite his weaknesses, Mizue realizes her feelings aren't love but mere pity. Burdened by daily frustrations and anxiety about the future, she plans a two-day, one-night getaway with a man she just met, seeking escape from her oppressive life. At the destination, she is taken by the stranger and finally experiences the release of her long-suppressed self.
