"It's okay, if it's for your sake..." Those words came from me, a man working at a publishing company. The person who heard them was Noriaki Ikeda, a rising young photographer who had given me work opportunities. Proudly, I told my wife about this encounter, and she expressed interest in observing the shoot. Reluctantly, I asked my boss, Mr. Oki, for permission as a long shot, and he agreed only on the condition that I remain quietly present and watch. On the day of the shoot, during a break, I showed the photographer some of my own photos, but he dismissed them, saying I was still clearly an amateur. Worse, he seemed taken with my wife and suddenly announced his desire to take nude photos of her—quickly turning the situation into something far more complicated.
