For the past year, Shiho has lived apart from her son, Akira, who left home to train as a chef in Tokyo. When Akira returns home with okonomiyaki in hand, she warmly welcomes him—only to be shocked when he confesses he wants to quit his apprenticeship. The next day, despite refusing to have sex with her brother-in-law in exchange for financial support, she is caught by Akira.
