Kogo one day encounters two female college students. They tell him, "If you work hard and behave well, you won't have to survive on poop and piss anymore," but no matter how hard he tries, he always ends up back in the toilet. Each time, unable to give up hope, he sneaks away while the two are asleep. However, most girls seem to dislike Kogo's actions and tend to abuse him immediately. Today, Kogo wanders the streets like a dog, desperately searching for food. On this day, he meets Bifan, a girl who recently lost her pet dog. Upon finding Kogo, Bifan steps on his tongue with her foot and spits on the ground—apparently testing whether he is a dog. Kogo takes the spit into his mouth.
