The profession of a cosplayer is surprisingly expensive.
Costumes, transportation to distant locations, studio rental fees, otaku merchandise purchases, gacha game spending—there are countless expenses involved. Compared to women of the same age group, the amount spent on cosplay and otaku activities is far from normal. It's only natural to wonder how these high costs are being covered. What's even more puzzling is that despite cosplay being such a financially demanding hobby, new cosplayers keep flooding in.
Idol-level cosplayers with over 100,000 followers often maintain multiple wealthy male benefactors. Many also successfully run paid fan sites. Even among cosplayers with around 50,000 followers, there are cases of successfully securing rich men as patrons.
However, cosplayers with around 10,000 followers possess a particularly dangerous side. Their methods of extracting money from fans are extremely sophisticated, and devilish, erotic tactics are rampant. Using sex appeal and seduction, they lure men in and drain them financially.
Our circle had always been cautious about such flirtatious business practices by cosplayers, but we had one critical "weakness"—our masochistic tendencies were exposed.
When asked something like, "What's a tribute masochist?" I honestly answered—and that moment became the turning point of my fate. From then on, I fell victim to the "tribute extortion" technique and was dragged deep into the swamp.
Deceived by her cute Rem cosplay, I realized too late that I was already completely trapped. She didn't stop at financial exploitation—she even stole a new kind of play from me: "Ruined Orgasm."
This act hasn't yet firmly established itself in Japanese, but it's often described as "empty ejaculation" or "ruined climax." The woman uses her hands, mouth, or genitals to bring the man to the brink of orgasm, then suddenly stops all stimulation. The wave of semen ends only through the involuntary muscle contractions of the penis—leaving no sense of satisfaction, feeling unpleasant, yet highly addictive and forbidden.
The compatibility between this humiliating, pathetic "Ruined Orgasm" and "tribute extortion" is both perfect and disastrous. I walked the path toward ruin—both physically and financially—led to destruction by a monster I myself created.
Nietzsche's words pierce my heart: "He who fights monsters should see to it that he does not become a monster himself. When you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you."
To our Getchu audience, please be extremely cautious about getting too involved with cosplayers...
When you gaze at a cosplayer, the cosplayer is also gazing back at you.
