Fake Becky: Do Whatever You Want & Aphrodisiac Plan The greatest appeal of this work is that the atmosphere changes dramatically between the first half and the second half. The first half has a quiet, restrained atmosphere, while the second half suddenly plunges into intense developments. It's like a two-part structure where you can experience both "calm" and "storm" in a single work, and the well-paced story development that never feels monotonous kept me engaged until the end. I highly recommend it to those who like works themed around "domination and change."
However, as I continued watching, there was one thing that bothered me no matter what. That is that Karina Nishida, who plays the female company president, looks like nothing other than a "fake Becky." The moment she first appeared on screen, before I could even think about the content of the work, the thought "Oh, it's Becky!" popped into my head. And the problem was that once that image came to mind, from then on I could only recognize Nishida as "fake Becky" rather than Karina Nishida. Of course, I have never felt sexual arousal from Becky before. Therefore, Nishida's Becky-like appearance did not provide direct stimulation to my crotch. But conversely, for those who have experienced arousal from Becky in the past, or those who secretly harbored a desire to "dominate that Becky-like woman," I think this work will hit the mark quite well.
One thing I felt was a pity is that although this work is depicted as "a revenge drama by an employee with grievances against the company," the crucial female company president herself does not attract strong hatred. The setting certainly works, but personally, I wish they had built up more direct grudges like "being looked down on" or "being thoroughly mocked." Because in this type of work, the "catharsis of getting even" is just as important as the "sense of conquest." Just as defeating a final boss feels less satisfying if that boss hasn't done anything particularly evil, in works themed around domination and reversal, the amount of hatred built up beforehand directly connects to the explosive pleasure. In that sense, the female company president in this work gave the impression of being a bit too decent. If her high-handed words and condescending behavior had been depicted more in the early part, I think the developments in the latter half would have been even more exhilarating, allowing for a stronger catharsis.
