From that perspective, the first rape scene performed by Ria in this work seemed lacking in tension. I didn’t feel a desperate resistance against her stepfather, whom she “hates to death.” As the story progressed, Ria’s acting of reluctance gradually improved, but it’s regrettable that continuing to watch with that sense of discomfort prevented me from immersing myself in the narrative. On the other hand, the depiction of the process where Ria’s unwanted pleasure erodes her mind and body was very well done. As the rape by her stepfather becomes routine, while she verbally rejects him, she begins wearing sexy lingerie unbecoming of a high school girl—this clever use of direction to express the gap between her heart and body was splendid. That’s precisely why the lack of tension in the first rape scene feels all the more disappointing. I believe the greatest appeal of high school girl rape works lies in the magnitude of the gap between “before the rape” and “after the rape.” The transformation of a girl with little sexual experience, innocent and pure, into a lewd, adult woman like a prostitute through rape—this gap is something that works with the same theme but featuring experienced housewives, university girls with imaginable romantic histories, or office ladies can never achieve. By the end, she falls completely, so I highly recommend this work to those who enjoy storylines where a woman descends into depravity.
