Magazine reporter Mai from Weekly Search is actually Mighty Girl, an alien with superhuman abilities and an invincible steel body. While surveilling Tokudera, a writer from a rival publication, under orders from powerful politician Hayashida, Mai uses her super hearing to eavesdrop on his conversations. She strips off her jacket and transforms into Mighty Girl, soaring through the sky to the scene, defeating the cyborg, and foiling Tokudera's conspiracy. As a result, Tokudera is demoted to a third-rate gossip magazine and assigned to investigate alien sightings. However, during his investigation, he becomes parasitized by a mysterious extraterrestrial creature called Datura, leading the story toward a tragic conclusion.
