In her third year of living alone in Tokyo, Akina was gradually feeling more and more desperate. It had been ten months since she graduated from vocational school and her parents stopped sending financial support. She works in voice jobs that take advantage of her anime-like voice, but the income isn't enough to sustain her. Work is irregular and unstable, and juggling multiple part-time jobs is difficult, leaving her in constant financial hardship. Lately, she feels she's nearing her limit. The reason Akina chose this path was because people constantly told her she had a cute voice, and because she had no other clear career goals. Truthfully, she never really enjoyed voice work and knows deep down she's only half-committed. Part of her wants to return home and live a simple life with a local part-time job. Yet she blames herself, thinking she'd just give up halfway. Even though quitting would be okay, she somehow can't bring herself to make that choice. Her determination to endure and push forward always crumbles when it matters most. Today's job was different from her usual work. Still, Akina resolved to keep trying and rely on her own strength.
