Every year during job-hunting season, "job-hunting sexual harassment incidents" continue to occur. According to a survey on workplace harassment commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, 25.5% of respondents reported having experienced sexual harassment. A distorted perception commonly held by companies and perpetrators—the belief that "the company's value equals my personal value"—leads them to misinterpret students' admiration as personal romantic interest. This warped self-perception is precisely why offenders often claim, "I was invited by the other party" or "I thought they had feelings for me." As the boundaries between public and private life become increasingly blurred, cases in which perpetrators face social consequences remain extremely rare.
