Naka's "torture rope" does not merely signify acts of sadism or masochism. It represents a desire to meet women who surrender their hearts to Naka's "bondage," exposing their true selves. Embedded within are feelings of "obedience" and "acceptance," evoking a deep connection between man and woman. In Naka's works, the interactions on-site and the relationships built over time are emphasized. The bound women often speak of feeling an "assured warmth, as if embraced by the ropes." This, too, is one of the reasons they become drawn into Naka's world. Iroha Shizuki is one such woman, and her presence deepens and enriches Naka's world even further.
