41-year-old wife Noriko has been married once but has no children. Now past the midpoint of her life, she experiences a strange encounter—meeting a version of her former self. Directed by Koichi Takahashi as a spin-off from the Married Woman Infidelity Trip series, this film deeply explores her inner world. Having grown up living with dogs, she developed a quiet, reserved personality. But her life has never been smooth. In her student years, her mother passed away, causing her family to disintegrate. Overcoming that grief, she found work at a company with dormitory housing and achieved independence. Three years after her mother’s death, her father also died from illness, leaving her completely alone in the world. It was then that the father of a friend took advantage of her, subjecting her to sexual abuse. Speaking of the trauma, she says, “I didn’t even understand what was being done to me…” Director Takahashi sharply portrays her tragic past, weaving an emotionally powerful story that confronts her past and present selves.
